Psychotherapy & Counselling Services

Individual Psychotherapy & Counselling

Psychotherapy is a supportive, talk-based process built on trust, connection, and collaboration. At its core, therapy centres around building a strong therapeutic relationship with you and creating a safe, compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can be yourself, explore what’s on your mind, and move toward change at a pace that feels right for you.

Therapy is not about being “fixed.” It’s about understanding yourself more deeply, recognizing your strengths, and developing practical tools to help you think, feel, and respond in ways that better support your life. Together, we use evidence-based approaches to support your emotional well-being, healthier relationships, and an improved quality of life.

Individual therapy can help you:

  • Feel more confident and grounded in yourself
  • Understand and manage your emotions more effectively
  • Build healthier relationships—with yourself and others
  • Communicate more clearly and assertively
  • Improve motivation and focus
  • Move toward your personal and professional goals

Sessions are currently offered online or by phone.

Sliding-scale and low-cost options may be available, with limited spaces.

Couples Psychotherapy & Counselling

Couples therapy offers a supportive space to slow things down and talk about what’s been hard to address on your own. It’s a place where both partners can feel heard, understood, and respected while exploring concerns that may be creating distance, tension, or disconnection in the relationship.

Using a compassionate, non-judgemental approach, sessions draw from evidence-based models such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. Together, we focus on understanding the patterns that keep you stuck and gently working toward healthier ways of relating. Couples therapy considers both individual experiences and the dynamics between you, recognizing that each partner plays an important role in the relationship.

Whether you’re looking to improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate conflict, reconnect emotionally, or clarify shared goals, couples therapy can support you in making sense of what’s happening and exploring new possibilities for your relationship—at a pace that feels manageable for both of you.

Couples therapy can support you in:

  • Strengthening emotional connection and understanding
  • Improving communication and collaboration as a team
  • Creating safer, more productive conversations
  • Rebuilding trust and intimacy over time
  • Recognizing and shifting unhelpful relationship patterns
  • Working through relational hurts and ruptures

Services are currently being offered online or via phone.

Coaching

Nicola also offers coaching as a certified coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Coaching is not psychotherapy. Coaching takes a strength-based and appreciative approach that focuses on deepening your awareness through conversation. Coaching focuses on your present situation and future goals rather than on your past experiences to help you close the gap between where you currently are and where you want to be. Through collaborative partnership, coaching helps you clarify your goals, create a plan to bring about the change you are seeking, and  move towards living your best life with increased confidence.
